*”American Idol” season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, whose dad Phillippi “PJ” Sparks was a Defensive Back for the New York Giants, spent Sunday watching the Giants beat the Patriots with boyfriend Jason Derulo as he continues to recover from a fractured neck.
Sparks tweeted Sunday that she was watching the big game with her “boo,” and included the above photo of the two, where she is seen wearing a Giants shirt and he is shown in his neck brace, the result of an acute fracture of his vertebra suffered during a tour rehearsal around Jan. 5.
As previously reported, Derulo revealed that he and Sparks were dating a couple weeks after his accident in early January, telling People magazine, “We are together. She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed and she’ll go on walks with me. We’ve gotten closer because of my accident. It’s awesome to have someone you can talk to and she’s a wonderful person.”
Although he had to cancel all of his European tour and promotional dates so that he can properly recover, Derulo seems to be pretty upbeat, all things considered. Among his recent cracks on Twitter, the R&B star wrote: “*When I wake up n the middle of the night cuz I think someone’s choking me.. “O It’s just my neck brace” lol”
